The Kite festival is aimed at promoting tourist objects in the Kulon Progo District, especially in Glagah Beach, was held in July 31, 2010 until August 1, 2010,  attended by more than 25 participants in local, national or international.

Carnival of Cultures is packaged in a cultural event of The Earth of Merapi, serves various cultural potential of the existing wealth in Sleman Yogyakarta. There are at least 15 (fifteen) bregada soldiers and arts groups, each consisting of about 50 people will enrich the cultural carnival. Carnival of Cultures was held with the opening of The 2010 National Championship drum band, followed by 15 contingents from various regions. Yogyakarta Art & Culture Festival is an annual cultural arts event in the Province of Yogyakarta, hosted by the Cultural Office of the Province of Yogyakarta. Celebration of the 22nd FKY was a theme of “Jogja Indeed Parties” which meant that the traditions and contemporary art and other artistic creations in the Province of Yogyakarta, is part and supporting factors of the privilege of Yogyakarta.

Candi Plaosan, also known as Plaosan Complex, is one of the Buddhist temples located in Bugisan village, Prambanan district, Central Java, Indonesia. It is easily accessible from Yogyakarta by Surakarta road. Candi Plaosan covers an area of 2,000 square meters with an elevation of 148 meters above sea level.
Plaosan temple was built in the mid 9th century by Sri Kahulunnan or Pramodawardhani, the daughter of Samaratungga, descendent of Sailendra Dynasty, and who was married to Rakai Pikatan in the Hindu tradition. The Plaosan complex is an ensemble of two Buddhist temples, Plaosan Lor and Plaosan Kidul. The Ploasan temple complex is made up of 174 small buildings, 116 are stupas and 58 are shrines. Many of the buildings have inscriptions. Two of these inscriptions denote the temple as a gift of sanctuary by Rakai Pikatan. The dates of the inscriptions are between 825-850 AD. Although similar to the Prambanan 856 AD date, the complexes are not related. A new building technique distinguishes Prambanan from Plaosan temples. Andong (Horse Carts) is a horse with a wagon for 2 – 4 person, one of traditional transportation in Yogyakarta.

Parangtritis beach is located about 25 km from Yogyakarta, the beach is the most frequently visited by tourists. We can see the view of the vast beach when we are on top of the hill glider runway.

Imogiri (also Imagiri) is a royal graveyard complex in Yogyakarta, in south-central Java, Indonesia, as well as a modern village located near the graveyard in Bantul regency. Imogiri is a traditional resting place for the royalty of central Java, including many rulers of the Sultanate of Mataram and of the current houses of Surakarta and Yogyakarta Sultanate. The name Imagiri is derived from Sanskrit Himagiri, which means ‘mountain of snow’. The latter is another name for Himalaya.
The Royal Graveyard that preceded was Kota Gede. The graveyard was constructed by Sultan Agung of Mataram in the later years of his reign, probably in the 1640s. The graveyard is a significant pilgrimage ziarah site, particularly on significant dates in the Javanese calendar (such as Satu Suro, New Year’s Day), and the Islamic calendar.
It also belongs to a larger network of significant locations in Javanese pilgrimage traditions. It is possibly the only major location remaining in Java where the Palaces of Surakarta and Yogyakarta have personnel manning a jointly administered royal graveyard.
Among the site’s most prominent graves are that of early Mataram ruler Sultan Agung of Mataram, and Sultan of Yogyakarta Hamengkubuwono IX, a leader during Indonesia’s war for independence. The most recent is that of Pakubuwana XII of Surakarta who was buried in 2004.

Fort Vredeburg is a fortress built by the Dutch in Yogyakarta during Colonial times. It is located in front of Gedung Agung, one of seven presidential palaces in Indonesia and the Sultan Palace called Kraton. It was built in 1765 to protect the Dutch governor. It is surrounded by a trench that is still visible.
This square-shaped fortress has a watchtower at each of its four corners. In the past, the Dutch troops patrolled frequently on its wall.
Nowadays, the fortress has become a museum. In some buildings in the fortress there are dioramas on Indonesian history.
